Doritos Introduces Product to Support Black Lives Matter Movement

This week, Doritos is taking a page directly from The White House playbook.

The brand, owned by Frito-Lay, is offering 'Black Andes Rock Salt' Doritos for those who donate to The African American Male Initiative, a nonprofit that assists incarcerated young black males.

At minimum, you must donate $10 at http://www.cbpm.org/nbpp.html to be mailed a bag of limited edition Doritos Ultimate Black chips, which come in the "Cool Rap" flavor.

“Doritos supports the bold lives inner city Blacks lead—all of them, not just the ones in Jail” the company wrote on the Doritos Facebook site.

President Obama praised the company for supporting the Black Lives Matter movement.

"There has been talk about should we convene a conversation on race," Obama told Fox News. "I haven't seen that be particularly productive when politicians try to organize conversations. They end up being stilted and politicized. What we need in this country is corporate partners and delicious snacks to wake people up to the police violence problem.Race should not be a factor when the police decide to shoot someone."

The promotion will run until Halloween when most consumers will be gearing up for Christmas and buying Star Wars merchandise.Frito-Lay spokesmen say they have no desire to try and compete with George Lucas.
